Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, assesses patient needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest level of patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with protocols.
- Monitor patient condition, recognize changes, and respond promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
- Provide mentorship or support to new nurses, nursing students, or support staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Insert State].
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Advanced certifications depending on specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient positioning.
- May require exposure to infectious diseases or bodily fluids.
- Shift work required: days, evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
